Population
Nairobi County has a transitional population structure due to a shrinking child population, where 0-14 year olds constitute 31%. This is a result of low fertility rates among women as shown by the highest percentage household size of 0-3 members at 62%. The county also has a high youthful population where 15-34 year olds constitute 49% of the total population. Labour migration from the rural areas in search for jobs is the main reason why the county has a very high proportion of the working age population of those aged between 15-64 years old who form 68% of the total population.
